Opposition to a proposed casino 1/2 mile from the Gettysburg NMP
Are we reaching the masses?
I just got finished reading the LeVan's Financial Spigot blog. I listened to Bob Durgin's show today.
Are we reaching the masses? This latest info about LeVan's recent financial contributions, basically buying his way into the hearts of our legislators to better secure his shot at a license....the disgustingly biased poll just released...the misleading information on the Mason Dixon website....even our own governor doesn't get it!
I can only hope and pray that…

I'm putting this news under blogs because its an important piece of investigative journalism.
This author missed all the contributions LeVan made to Rendell BEFORE the law was passed in 2004.

He also missed the fact that the casino is 1/2 mile from the Gettysburg National…

Is there a drop in acceptability of casino gambling among the public? The American Gaming Association State of the States 2009 report on the Commercial (excluding Native American Gambling) industry page 38 shows the industries survey of opinon on gambling.
For the first time in the history of this survey, more people find Casino Gambling inappropriate for themselves or anyone then acceptable for anyone.

Don't blame me, I voted for Lynn Swann!
How many more days till this turkey is out of office? I'm sorry. I know Susan always says take the high road, but when it comes to Ed Rendell.....can't bring myself to do it.
Is he kidding me?
It's closer to the Maryland border than to Gettysburg? We've clocked out the distance from the Park to this new location....have we clocked out the distance from the proposed site to the MD border? Just curious. I haven't seen any numbers on this…

Multi-flora rose and a Gettysburg Casino
My father in law told me that in the 1950’s the government came to our farm and offered him a great deal. They gave him free plants that would grow quickly into a beautiful flowered natural…

A casino here will provide jobs but will cost even more jobs in the rest of Adams County. Why?
First: Our 150 year old heritage tourism industry is endangered. Heritage Tourists are different from recreational tourists and are repulsed…

Creating the illusion of wrongdoing is a classic intimidation technique, designed to shut people up.
No Casino Gettysburg would be strong even if I were gone completely. NCG is the cry of history that will not be re-written and never be silenced. It is the cry of community, of families and residents, that want health and safety.
Intimidation is a technique that is used over and over again with all sorts of lies and innuendos, but so far I have seen nothing that is truthful. The…

The Teacher Needs to Teach
I guess that I will need to call up Keith Miller and see if he would like to join me in offering a class in BASIC statistical concepts and quantitative methods to our friends on the Pro-Casino ticket.
I have read at least two different articles today that stated that No Casino talked only about emotional issues. So, I have to ask...where the heck were these people when Keith and I were talking? Did they loose track of themselves for a few minutes? Blacked out? Blocked out…

Good meeting last night!
Well we are certainly sorry we ended up not being able to make it last night. I've watched the footage and it looks as though you had a fantastic turnout and it was a very productive meeting. We do hope to make it to the next one scheduled for next month.
I hope people out there really understand that it's not about the gambling, it's location, location, location. This is just too close for a lot of us, too close to something so personal and so significant. You can't tell me…

Casinos often attempt to manipulate public opinion and curry public favor by sponsoring child-oriented community activities, such as school functions and sports. Often, casinos turn the children into walking billboards with casino advertisement printed on the backs of the T-shirts the casino has "generously…
